Dive the Oriskany and get some serious bottom time! Spend some time on the flight deck and decrease your narcosis! Do this dive the safe way!! The Advanced Recreational Trimix Course is the perfect course to get you to the flight deck of the Oriskany and allow you to spend time there. This course trains you to complete dives to 160 fsw with a decompression up to 15 minutes on 100% oxygen at a 1.5 PO2. After this course you will be prepared to do a 21 minute dive on the flight deck of the Oriskany. If your gas consumption allows it, you can extend the dive time by spending some time on the tower during your ascent with just you and your buddy. Get away from the crowds on the tower and do this dive like it should be done! Click the link above for more information on the course.

St. Andrews Jetty, Panama City Beach 11/19/08 - Headed over to the jetties for a couple of training dives. High slack tide has been in the middle of the night lately so we decided to plan our dives around low tide instead. With low tide at 11:59, we decided to gear up and get in the water around 11:30. There was barely a current when we got in, but visibility was the expected low to none. We had about 5-10' of visibility from the surface to about 40' depth. Then it got really dark. At 45' we couldn't see much beyond a foot or so. My student wasn't into low visibility diving so he called the dive and we surfaced. Plans were made to head somewhere else on another day for our dives. Water temperature was 64 degrees with air temperature in the high 50s. We decided to head over to Orange Grove or Troy the following week to complete the dives we had planned for this day. It's a little farther but worth the drive for the improved conditions. Take a look at the latest Troy report to see how that day went. |
